How to ask a user to verify their Steam account
If you are an administrator of a Discord server that uses the HOI4Intel bot, you can use the /request_steam
command to ask a user to verify their Steam account. This command will send a direct message to the user with a link to HOI4Intel’s secure website where they can verify their Steam account. Verifying the Steam account will allow the bot to access the user’s profile link and other information related to their HOI4 games.
Usage
The syntax of the /request_steam
command is:
/request_steam player
The parameter is:
player
: The mention of the user you want to verify.
Example
An example of using the /request_steam
command is:
/request_steam player:@Ninjonik#6793
This will send a direct message to JohnDoe with a link to verify their Steam account.
The link will look something like this: https://hoi.theorganization.eu/steam/1234567890, where 1234567890 is JohnDoe’s Discord ID.
The user will need to click on the link and follow the instructions on the website to verify their Steam account. They will need to log in to their Steam account and authorize HOI4Intel to access their profile information. Once they do that, they will see a confirmation message on the website and their profile link will be stored in the bot’s database.
If you want to check if a user has verified their Steam account, you can use the /whois
command with their mention as a parameter. This will show you their profile link and other information related to their account.
